Tips to Get It Right!
Take The Time and Make the Right Choice!
Home buying is a very unique process. Compared to anything else purchased during a lifetime, it is the single most expensive purchase most people ever make. It is logical that most buyers spend a great deal of time and energy to buy the right home. Times have changed and the process is very different than even ten years ago. Shopping begins at home on the computer before ever setting foot into a home. Buying a home can be quite an emotionally charged purchase, and getting it right is extremely important. Home styles vary depending on location in regards to designs, and of course price points. When buying a home you should consider many facets of the home. You will need to consider what can work for you now, and what will work for you with the future plans that you have made.
- New Construction vs. Vintage Styles
- Open floor plan vs. more traditional
- Do you entertain more? Or less
- Size…A Bigger home is not always better!
- How many people – adults or children – guest bedroom? Or finished basement?
- Landscaping vs. Swimming pool
- Heating ~ Geothermal vs. traditional Oil or Propane
These are just a few of the choices that you would need to think about. Colors and styles can play a role in how we choose, but the interior painting can be considered just a cosmetic choice. Paint is something that can be more easily changed after you move in. Looking beyond this sort of detail can be helpful when searching for the home that can work for you
Home builders can build just about anything, but prices escalate with a more custom home. Shiny and new is quite popular, but not for everyone. Existing homes vary depending on when they were built. Older homes can require many upgrades and this should be calculated in the value of the current purchase price. Those repairs can add a huge price tag after you move in.
There are so many choices and things to think about when looking for your next home. The process can be overwhelming. There is no race to the finish line, but once you are ready to start looking be prepared to take the plunge. When that perfect home comes on the market you need to be able to act or you might lose out on a missed opportunity. Take your time to look and make some decisions on what works. When the fit is right you will know. Enjoy the journey.
