With SantaCon NYC… the anwer is ….Thousands!
New York City during the Holiday Season is always an adventure. Timing is everything when visiting Manhattan. This past Saturday I was fascinated to find out all about SantaCon NYC. I don’t know about you, but I had never heard of SantaCon before. It seems to be a recent tradition that is a fund raiser of sorts and a gathering of people that LOVE to dress up as Santa Claus. It is quite controversial but quite the party. I did not get to follow the party downtown (where I hear the party gets a bit more rowdy) but I was able to get some classic photos of Santa all along the streets of midtown Manhattan. Their claim, “SantaCon is a non-denominational, non-commercial, non-political and non-sensical Santa Claus convention that occurs once a year for absolutely no reason”. I know the reason.. its fun!
Something new and exciting. Who would have known that everywhere around every corner, and all day long people would be dressed in Santa costumes. Big costumes, little costumes, costumes of elves and reindeer and even a Frosty the Snowman was found in Midtown Manhattan.
The Santas were on the train with me when I left Newburgh in the morning and again when I took the train from Grand Central Station all the way back to Newburgh ….. Santas and more Santas…
and in the end…
Very Sleepy Santas… all the way home ….. yes, they took the train..
So what happened to their sleigh?? I guess with so many Santas running around, there was no place to park!
