Chadwick Lake – Things to do in the Hudson Valley
A gem in the Town of Newburgh…. Visit the beautiful Chadwick Lake Park any time of year. The park is part of the Town of Newburgh Recreation Department. Seems to me I’ve been missing out for the last 25+ years. I always thought that it was just playground.. little did I know how beautiful the park is. It is much larger than I thought too.
What a beautiful place to enjoy the outdoors. Great location and free time well spent. This fall I walked around the lake and back again on more than one occasion. A four mile walk that had my husband and I becoming well acquainted with all the ducks and trails around the lake. Take the trek around the lake once, and you will be hooked.
You won’t want to miss the skating or hockey, children’s playground, trails for bikes and walking, boating, fishing, basketball and more. Dogs are allowed with a leash on the trails. They are super happy to be there and love the trails and all the fresh air. Great exercise for them and you too. Remember to bring your own water and snacks. The park does not have any food available.
The Park is requires a year permit from residents or daily parking fee.
Hours for the park can vary during the year.
Schedules for Skating etc can be found on their website:
CLOSED: New Years Day/Easter Sunday/Thanksgiving Day/Christmas Eve
